Our Values & Ethics
At LEAU, we are constantly looking for ways to evolve our manufacturing practices. Here are some current info on how we are making an effort to be conscious of our impact:
Production
LEAU was founded to offer clothing that challenges fast fashion—investment-quality pieces designed for the modern wardrobe. With that comes a responsibility to create with intention. For us, that means producing only what’s needed, prioritizing quality over quantity, and designing pieces made to be reworn again and again.
Every style begins in-house, where our design team meticulously refines fabric, fit, and construction. We’re committed to using premium materials and thoughtful techniques that support long-term wear.
Once a style meets our standards, each piece is produced in small, limited batches with our expert team of sewers and seamstresses to minimize overproduction and reduce waste. We only restock styles that continue to be requested by our community—and if an item sells out, it may not return.
We never discard unsold garments and donate remaining pieces to local charities whenever possible.
Rather than follow a traditional seasonal drop model, we release limited styles based on real-time customer feedback and demand. This approach allows us to remain intentional in what we produce and avoid the waste often created by trend-based, fast fashion cycles.
While we know that no approach is perfect, we’re committed to continuously evaluating and evolving our process to create a more conscious future, one garment at a time.
Packaging
LEAU packaging is made from recycled, recyclable, or reusable materials, including our tissue paper, kraft boxes, and even our tape. We print using non-toxic, soy-based inks to minimize environmental impact while delivering a thoughtful unboxing experience.
Our paper mailer bags are FSC® certified, meaning they are sourced from responsibly managed forests that meet the highest standards of environmental and social responsibility. Choosing FSC®-certified materials helps ensure that every element of our packaging supports a healthier planet.
Certified to a Higher Standard
We only work with factories that meet global standards for safety, transparency, and quality. Our manufacturing partners currently hold:
- AZO-Free Certification – Free from harmful AZO dyes, ensuring our garments are safe for your skin and the environment.
- ISO 1833 – Certifying fiber composition accuracy, so what’s on the label is what you’re actually wearing.
- CE Certification – Meeting rigorous EU production standards for ethical and responsible workplace practices and product safety.
These certifications reflect our belief that true luxury is built on responsibility. We also recognize that these certifications alone don't equate to full-spectrum sustainability. That’s why we remain committed to continuously improving our supply chain, and we are actively working to adopt more ethical, transparent, and responsible practices wherever possible.
Care
LEAU garments are designed to be reworn, restyled, and cherished. To preserve their quality and reduce environmental impact, we recommend dry cleaning only. Please avoid bleach and tumble drying—gentle care extends the life of your pieces and helps reduce textile waste.
Our Ongoing Commitment
We know that sustainability is never one-size-fits-all and never complete. As we grow, so will our efforts—to design more consciously, produce more intentionally, and always build with longevity in mind.
